Professor Puszynski's research is focused on:

  1. Fundamental aspects of reaction kinetics and mechanism of strongly exothermic condensed phase reactions.
  2. Formation and reactivity of nanopowders.
  3. Combustion synthesis and processing of ceramic and powders, including silicon and aluminum nitrides, sialons, alons, and many other nonoxide ceramic composites.
  4. In-situ formation of dense and porous ceramic and intermetallic materials by a combustion technique.
  5. Mathematical modeling of self-sustaining reaction processes.
